The Fugs, formed in the bohemian Lower East Side of Manhattan in 1964, were poet musicians who didn’t just reflect their time, they nurtured it. Using musical satire to explore boundaries of free speech and antagonize the establishment, they ignited an idea that spread through the (counter) culture.
