Cast: 4 males ages approximately 15-65+, 5 females ages approximately 15-65+, plus large ensemble 15-65+
Auditions: Auditions will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church, 2200 Phoenix Avenue, Fort Smith, on Monday, May 13 at 7 pm. Be prepared to sing one minute of a song of your choice. You may bring an accompaniment track (Bluetooth speaker available), or sing a capella. Callbacks and cold script readings Tuesday, May 14 at 7 pm. Cast member read through Thursday, May 16 - 7 pm at Wesley United Methodist. Regular evening rehearsals begin Friday, May 17.

Synopsis: This blockbuster Broadway hit bursts with humor, romance, dancing and some of the greatest songs in musical theatre history. The romantic and comic exploits of Dolly Gallagher-Levi, turn-of-the-century matchmaker and “woman who arranges things,” entertains audiences again and again. Starring Carol Channing, the show first opened in 1964. In a recent revival, Bette Midler starred as Dolly.

Dolly Levi: Matchmaker, widow, meddler, opportunist, life-loving, commanding, strong stage presence. Stage age: 50-65. Vocal range: alto-soprano.
Horace Vandergelder: Well-known half-a-millionaire, widower, owns the Feed Store, gruff, set in his ways, authoritative. Stage age: 50-65+. Vocal range: baritone.
Cornelius Hackl: Head clerk at the Feed Store, energetic, enthusiastic, and adventurous. Stage age: 30-40. Vocal range: baritone.
Barnaby Tucker: Assistant to Cornelius at the Feed Store, naïve, energized, follower. Stage age: 18-25. Vocal range: baritone.
Irene Molloy: Owns the Hat Shop, widow, beautiful, smart, fun-loving. Stage age: 30-40. Vocal range: soprano.
Minnie Fay: Irene’s assistant, naïve, straight-laced, fresh, follower. Stage age: 18-25. Vocal range: mezzo-soprano.
Ambrose Kemper: Struggling artist, good-natured, accommodating, wants to marry Ermengarde. Stage age: 19-25. Vocal range: tenor.
Ermengarde: Horace’s niece, whining, high-strung, wants to marry Ambrose. Stage age: 18-20. Vocal range: any.
Ernestina: Accommodating, good-time girl. Stage age: 30-50. Vocal range: any.
Rudy: Maitre’d of the Harmonia Gardens, proper, commanding. Stage age: 40-65. Vocal range: bass.
Mrs. Rose: Street vendor (will be cast from the ensemble). Stage age: 35-55.
Miscellaneous ensemble roles include waiters, chefs, townspeople, parade performers, etc. The ensemble will be used quite a bit throughout the musical adding to the overall world of the show!
