Frostfecht is Ironwood’s year-end open house & open sparring day. The goal is to bring together a wide variety of clubs & combatants to share our knowledge and enthusiasm for our martial arts, in the spirit of the season of storms.
All are welcome, no matter your weapon, system, or experience level. Our doors are open to all those from HEMA, HAMA, SCA, Amtgard, Vikings, Eastern Martial Artists, boffer LARP, and any other practicing combat communities.
We also welcome guests from the general public to visit and learn more about what we do!
Attendance is free, and loaner gear/weapons will be available. There is space for informal sparring, and general socializing.
There will also be TWO friendly tournaments this year, PLUS a bonus workshop! Tourneys have prizes and medals, and are completely optional for guests. Please remember that the emphasis of the day is on camaraderie, not competition. No scores will be posted to HEMA ratings.
⚔️ FROSTFECHT FECHSTCHULE
Historical bear-pit tournament using “fechtschule” rules, allowing for everyone to participate regardless of equipment or experience.

A time-based tournament featuring foam montante as the primary weapon.
