About this Event
This year, we invite you to discover the #MagicOfWalking and celebrate how walking and wheeling more can boost your physical and mental health, as well as supporting the local economy. London Heritage Quarter is committed to encouraging visitors, workers and residents to explore the area, we are partnering with Westminster City Guides to host a series of guided walk
This walking route will trace the old Whitehall Palace from Henry VIII's deer park and playground, through to the Parade Ground (old jousting tiltyard and tennis courts) and through the arch down to Queen Mary's steps by the River.
The expert guides provide unique local insights and bring the area’s history and character to life.
During and after the walks, we aim to gather feedback and ideas from participants on potential area enhancements, future activities, and ways to support healthier, more active, and sustainable travel.
2026 will be a landmark year for London Rivers Week, a week-long annual campaign inspiring the public to celebrate all of London’s rivers and the many projects taking place to protect them, marking the festival’s 10th anniversary. The celebrations will highlight a decade of river restoration successes and showcase the achievements of the communities who have helped bring London’s waterways to life.
