About this Event
Impacting the lives of millions! It’s an achievement few can claim. Uday Kumar is one of the few. The cardiologist behind one of the most recognizable health technology inventions of his time—the ZIO® patch—began his foray into the health technology ecosystem immediately after medical school when he took a year off to try his hand at a start-up. In the career that has since ensued, one theme has been consistent: meeting patients where they are, rather than imposing a view of where they should be.
Join us on January 22, as Uday speaks with fellow inventor and Innovation Fellowship alum, Kate Rosenbluth, about his innovation journey—the highs and the lows, the practice of building experiences instead of products only, the challenges of innovating for a diverse patient population to enable greater access and equity, how his medical training in urban centers and his involvement in global Biodesign initiatives impacted his approach to innovation in the US, and what his years as a teacher and mentor to other aspiring inventors have taught him about innovation.
