The cardiologist behind one of the most recognizable health technology inventions of his time—the ZIO® patch—began his foray into the health technology ecosystem immediately after medical school when he took a year off to try his hand at a start-up. In the career that has since ensued, one theme has been consistent: meeting patients where they are, rather than imposing a view of where they should be.
