From Tahoe to Chile: Conservation Across Borders/Continents

Keep Tahoe Blue — the donor-funded, science-based organization of environmental experts and Tahoe-lovers who have protected the Lake Tahoe Basin since 1957 — will host its sister organization, Chile Lagos Limpios, for a dynamic panel focused on sharing best practices, building global connections from the grassroots, and shaping future partnerships.

Southern Chile and Lake Tahoe are both renowned for their breathtaking landscapes, expansive lakes, and world-class outdoor recreation. Over nearly seven decades of successes and setbacks, Keep Tahoe Blue has developed a proven model for managing the pressures that come with tourism, economic growth, and development, while still protecting fragile ecosystems. This event explores how those lessons reach across borders.

At a time when governmental cooperation is increasingly strained by protectionism and insularity, the partnership between Keep Tahoe Blue and Chile Lagos Limpios demonstrates how nonprofit organizations can step in to lead. Together, these groups are addressing urgent global challenges, including climate change, environmental degradation, and sustainable development.

This panel offers a rare opportunity to hear directly from leaders of both organizations about how resources, training, and advocacy can still be shared internationally to create real impact.
