From Stillness to Dance

From Stillness to Dance — the title traces the exact arc of this program, and the perfect opening to a season built around the 200th anniversary of Beethoven’s death.
Music Director Antoine T. Clark leads the Worthington Chamber Orchestra in Rimsky-Korsakov’s dazzling Capriccio espagnol and Manuel de Falla’s Nights in the Gardens of Spain, with guest pianist Orlay Alonso in one of the Spanish repertoire’s most richly atmospheric works. The concert culminates in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 in A major — the work Wagner famously called “the apotheosis of the dance.”
