From Spark to Story: A Creative Writing Workshop
Great stories don't begin with perfect sentences, they begin with curiosity.
Somewhere along the way, many writers lose sight of the creative process. We become obsessed with choosing the "correct" words, editing every sentence before we've even finished the paragraph, and worrying about word count, mechanics, and grammar instead of exploring where our writing can really take us.
From Spark to Story is a hands-on creative writing workshop designed to help you reconnect with your imagination, strengthen your observation skills, and transform your ideas into engaging stories.
What we'll do:
Throughout the day, you'll take part in a series of thoughtfully designed creative exercises that encourage you to see the world differently, generate new ideas, and strengthen your storytelling skills. Each activity has a purpose—helping you spark creativity, sharpen your observation skills, and develop practical techniques you can apply to your own writing long after the workshop ends.

The Instructor:
Victoria is a college professor, editor, and lifelong lover of words with more than 20 years of experience in communications and nearly a decade teaching writing and communication at the college level. She has helped students, professionals, researchers, and writers strengthen their writing through practical guidance, thoughtful revision, and encouragement. Her Purple Pen workshops combine practical writing instruction with playful, creative activities designed to inspire writers at every stage of their journey.
What to bring:
All you need is your creativity and enthusiasm! All participants will receive a notebook and a pen, as well as all supplies required for each activity. A light lunch and snacks will be provided throughout the day. Please leave the laptops at home - this is a hands-on workshop!
