Racing historian donald Walsh will cover Maryland’s early days of  racing, from the time before the arrival of the country’s first  Thoroughbred to the pre-Civil war era. Learn about Selima,  Post Boy, and the Great Match Race of 1823 and gain a better  understanding of the origins of the Thoroughbred breed and  how the format of flat racing has changed over the course of  two and a half centuries in America.
