Join us after worship on Sunday, October 18, for a special afternoon exploring faith, compassion, and care for creation.
First United Presbyterian Church of Dale City’s Earth Care Team is helping sponsor From Ranching to Restoration: A Change of Heart for All Creation, featuring Renee King-Sonnen, author, speaker, documentary subject, and founder of Rowdy Girl Sanctuary.
Renee will share her remarkable journey from life on a Texas cattle ranch to transforming that ranch into a sanctuary for rescued farmed animals. Her story invites us to consider how faith can lead us toward compassion, spiritual growth, and meaningful change.
🌱 Schedule
11:45 AM–12:45 PM — Free Compassionate Cookout & Community Potluck
1:00–2:30 PM — Faith-centered program with Renee King-Sonnen
Following the program — Book sales and signing
The afternoon will also include guided conversation and a moderated dialogue with Renee and Rev. Adam C. Bowling, incorporating questions from participants.
🍔 The complimentary cookout will feature plant-based burgers and sausages. Guests are welcome, but not required, to bring a plant-based side dish or dessert to share.
Admission and the meal are FREE, but advance registration is required.
