Food is a part of our everyday lives that has changed enormously over the centuries. What foods were available to Guildfordians in the 16th century? Did the spices brought in by English merchants affect the diet of ordinary people? What impact did the Industrial Revolution have on what our grandparents ate? Come and join us to find out.
A new walk following the 'Everyday Lives' theme chosen for Heritage Open Days 2026
The walk is about a half a mile long with regular stops, and about 90 minutes in duration. You should wear suitable clothing for the prevailing weather conditions.
