This class introduces participants to the basics of launching a cottage food business and selling at farmers markets. We will cover some key legal requirements such as approved foods, labeling, safety rules, insurance, basic taxes, and record keeping. The workshop also focuses on preparing for market success: from packaging and branding, to booth setup and sampling. Participants will explore how to research and apply to farmers markets, understand permits and vendor requirements, accept different forms of payment, and use social media for promotion.
Learn practical strategies for launching and managing small cottage food ventures. Instructed by Stacy Hanna, a local business owner and marketing professional, who successfully built and runs King Pappy’s BBQ Sauce.
