Most of us have never seen an iron lung outside of a museum and that is exactly the point.On March 17, the Rotary Club of Tahoe Douglas is hosting a special evening presentation on Polio, the Iron Lung, and Rotary’s End Polio Now mission at Bally’s Lake Tahoe.

We are honored to welcome PDG David Gallagher, a nationally recognized Rotarian with decades of international humanitarian service. An actual iron lung will be on display, a sobering reminder of what polio looked like before vaccines and why Rotary’s work is not finished.
Polio has no cure. Prevention through vaccination is the path. The world has made extraordinary progress, but almost is not victory.
This is a presentation everyone should see.
