About this Event
From Ink to Independence 1776: Patriots, Pens & Peril
Step back in time and join us in person as costumed actors bring the Spirit of ‘76 to life through dramatic readings of original letters, military dispatches, and diaries of real people from Long Island.
Set against a colonial-era tavern backdrop with “Live” period music and sing-alongs, the program reveals the voices of Patriots, Loyalists, and British officers, as they wrote of the uncertainty of war.
Through their words, audiences will experience the fears, courage, and difficult choices faced by residents and experience the human side of the Revolution through the words of those who lived it. You'll meet brave patriots, their powerful pens, and the dangers they faced in the fight for freedom. It's a lively, hands-on experience you won't forget — feel the passion, the peril, and the power of the iconic year that changed everything.
