About this Event
Food is essential to shaping identities, relationships and cultural narratives. Israeli food is not merely a list of ingredients but a reflection of historical influences, migration patterns, economic shifts and social interactions. Join the Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU and the Steven J. Green School of International & PublicAffairs for this exciting presentation that explores the evolution of Jewish-Israeli cuisine, tracing its roots from ancient traditions to the contemporary culinary scene. We will take an anthropological approach to examine how Israel's culture and society shape food practices and, in return, how food practices shape Israel.
Before the lecture, we will serve welcome drinks to whet your appetite. After the presentation, guests are invited to enjoy a reception where they can sample a variety of dishes, offering a delicious taste of the topics to be discussed.
