FrogWatch USA is a nationwide project where trained volunteers assist scientists in determining amphibian population trends by listening and recorded data on frog and toad calls throughout the spring and summer. The local chapter was established in 2019 and is coordinated by a partnership between the Dillon Nature Center and the Hutchinson Zoo.
There is no cost to attend the training, but you must register to participate. Adults, teens, and children with an adult partner are all welcome to sign up. After training, volunteers are expected to monitor their survey site regularly throughout the spring and summer months and record the data through an online system.
There are two training sessions!
Each of our trainings include two class periods each from 5:30-6:30pm.
