A note from Caryl Lawson, our Executive Director:
There’s a place for you at our Thanksgiving table. 🧡
For the past three years, I’ve hosted Friendsgiving as a place to share a meal, find connection, and spend Thanksgiving together. This year marks my fourth time hosting and I’m bringing this tradition to The Sanctuary, a space dedicated to community, connection, and safety.
My heart’s desire has always been to make sure no one spends this day alone, feeling like everyone they know is surrounded by family while they’re wishing they had somewhere to go.
The holidays can be especially tender for those in our LGBTQ+ community who are estranged from family or don’t feel welcome as their whole selves. You deserve a place where you can be yourself, feel wanted, and know someone is glad you came.
Whether your loved ones are far away, you’re building your chosen family, or you’d simply enjoy some company, we’d love for you to join us. You don’t have to know anyone to pull up a chair.
We’ll share a potluck meal, so bring a favorite dish if you can. But...If you can’t, come anyway. No one will be turned away for not bringing food. Your company is enough. We will make sure there is enough for everyone!
