Friends of the Cabildo Annual Symposium – Los Isleños and Early Colonial Spanish Louisiana
Explore the vibrant history, cultural resilience, and geopolitical legacy of 18th-century Spanish Louisiana at the 2026 Los Isleños and Early Colonial Spanish Louisiana Symposium. Co-presented by the Friends of the Cabildo, Los Isleños Heritage & Culture Society, this two-day hybrid conference brings together leading scholars, community historians, and cultural advocates to examine the migration, settlements, and lasting impact of Canary Islanders (Los Isleños) and the broader Spanish colonial administration in the Gulf South.
