Friends of Hanover Mountain Road Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup Event

Friends of Hanover will be participating in a VDOT Adopt-A-Highway roadside cleanup event for Route-33 (Mountain Road) on Saturday July 18, 2026.
Event gathering location: 13155 Mountain Road, Glen Allen, VA 23059 (Kitchen 33)
Schedule:
8:45 am (Arrival time; Please check in with us and sign liability waver)
9:00 am (VDOT mandated Safety meeting talk given)
9:15 to 11:00 am (Road cleanup; we will split into groups and disperse by car)
11:00 am (Groups return to starting location, sign out & return cleanup equipment)
How to sign up to participate – We’re looking for around 20 volunteers. Please let us know you are coming by RSVP’ing ‘Going’ so we will have an idea of how many people are planning to attend.
Age requirements: We prefer all volunteers be 18 years of age or older to participate. Minors aged 10-17 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Nobody under the age of 10 is permitted to participate per VDOT permit.
What we will provide: Safety Vests, Trash Bags, and Grabber tools.
You are encouraged to: Bring; Hat, Gloves and Sun Glasses and watch the VDOT Adopt-A-Highway safety video below.
