This is a good beginner friendly spot that rarely has any power boats. if you are an absolute newbie and just want to try kayaking I have a couple extra boats I'll bring let me know if you're interested on that. or post something here in the event that you want to borrow a boat and see who might chime in I know lots of folks have extras.

If you are an absolute newbie and have never kayaked before but want to give it a try or maybe you've only been out a couple times try to arrive early! I'll have a couple of loan over kayaks you can try out different styles.

Location is Clark Creek South boat ramp. if you're coming up Allatoona Gateway from Interstate 75 it will be on your right. go through the campground check in pay your $5 and then veer over to the left toward the boat ramp.
unless you already have Bartow County season pass.

If you want the Bartow County season pass you can go ahead and buy that for $40. If you have America the Beautiful Federal pass you get $20 off of the Bartow pass.

Credit card only they did not accept cash at the check-in window.

This is a great spot very nice simple paddle but I will say honestly I do also have ulterior motive! for the last 3 years I've been working with the Allatoona Community Association to come up with plans for redevelopment in the area. there are a lot of different things going on with that but one of the ideas I had was for the county to work with the Army Corps of Engineers and officially make this area entirely a no-wake Zone. right now there's no place in Bartow County that is officially a good spot for flat water kayaking and stand up boards. declaring it a no wake zone would also create a safe spot for small fishing boats. so any of us on small crafts hopefully would not have to worry about getting swamped by cabin cruisers and idiots on jet skis.

I would like to have a nice turnout so we can show there is a demand for the use!

try to be there in the water, would like to have all paddles in the Water by 6:30 if we can.
