Friedrichshain Contemporary Art Tour

Three seasoned visual artists characterise this tour of some of the most interesting galleries in Friedrichshain. The first one is the Canadian artist Brent Wadden, the youngest of the group, whose painting work focuses on textile: wool and yarn. His latest work will be shown at the Peres Projects , inviting us to meditate on the slow passing of time as we immerse ourselves in his work. We will then continue to Galeria Plan B galery, dedicated to Romanian art, where we will see the newest works of one of the oldest living Romanian painters. Painting through Ceaușescu’s dictatorship all through today, Cornel Brudascu has changed visual styles and narrative worlds, while also being one of the mentors of the Cluj School painters’ group. Finally, to close our deep-dive into the contemporary painting world, we will end our tour at Capitain Petzel, which showcases recent work by New York-based German artist and painter Thomas Eggerer. The exhibition, titled “Fitness”, will be his first solo exhibition with the Berlin gallery.
