About this Event
Join us for Friday Nights at Center Hill!
Volunteers are essential to the National Marine Life Center's (NMLC) mission of rehabilitating and releasing stranded marine mammals and sea turtles, advancing scientific knowledge, and promoting education on marine wildlife health and conservation. Lisa Meeks has been a dedicated NMLC volunteer for over a decade, providing care for animals, while also serving as a volunteer with Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Sea Turtle Rescue team. She is one of over 200 Mass Audubon trained volunteers who patrol Cape Cod beaches during high tide, braving windy, cold, and wet conditions from November through mid-January to search for cold-stunned sea turtles.
Join us for SEMPBA's 2nd program in our 2025 lecture series, Friday Nights at the Center, to learn more about the sea turtles that inhabit local waters and discover what happens when Lisa encounters a cold-stunned sea turtle on the beaches of Cape Cod.
