About this Event
During the Friday evening lecture, you’ll learn four foundational skills to help you recognize the birds you’re seeing and hearing in the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument — and wherever you go:
- How to choose and use binoculars so they actually work
- How to see more birds by blending into the landscape through your movement, attention, and presence
- The five essential things to look for when identifying birds
- How to use field guides in a way that is effective and enjoyable
On Saturday, we’ll head outside and put these skills into practice together.
Please bring your binoculars and field guides on both days.
This class is designed for beginners and anyone who wants to feel more connected to the birds and landscape around them.
