Dear fellow lindy hoppers,This Friday at 19:30 we start with an intro to St. Louis Shag with Dovile & Ruta. This semester St. Louis Shag is part of our thematics starting May 21st.
St. Louis Shag is an up-tempo partnered swing dance that emerged in St. Louis, Missouri during the mid-1930s. St. Louis shag should NOT be confused with Collegiate Shag. Though it is also a fast swing dance that evolved from Lindy Hop, and Charleston, the basic step pattern here is an 8-count that is commonly composed of a left triple-step, kick, right triple-step, kick and can be danced to slower tunes. The Collegiate Shag however, is commonly composed of a 6-count slow, slow, quick quick small kicks.

At Social Dancing, you can meet your fellow lindy hoppers and practice all the moves you have learned in class by dancing with lindy hoppers from all levels.
Remember to bring your drinks, a towel and an extra t-shirt.
Place: Folkestedet, Room 1.4 (dance room upstairs)

We will have volunteers coming down and opening the doors.
Always help each other and let fellow dancers inside the house.
