"Friday Night Magic" (FNM) is a weekly event hosted by local game stores around the world for fans of Magic: The Gathering (MTG). Serving as a cornerstone for local MTG communities FNM welcomes both new and experienced players to come together socialize and compete in a friendly environment. The "Modern" format one of the many styles played at FNM allows players to construct decks from cards released in expansions from the Eighth Edition onward. This format is distinguished by its extensive card pool providing room for diverse strategies and creative deck builds. Modern ensures that players can continue using their favorite cards from past sets even as new expansions release. FNMs often offer promotional cards or other rewards to participants making it not only an opportunity to play and hone skills but also a chance to add unique cards to one's collection.
