The basic concepts of amigurumi crochet are covered in this cute little octopus project. We will start with a magic circle, crochet in the round for two more rows, increasing by 6 stitches in each, and then single crochet for three rounds. Then we will practice an invisible decrease, and remember to stop to add the "safety eyes" before we narrow the octopus body to only 8 stitches, and practice eight times adding a tentacle before finishing with some fiberfill stuffing. The basics from this small project will set you up for success for many amigurumi animals or objects you want to create!
Crochet hooks and yarn are provided, and if you are bringing a crochet hook, we recommend a smaller-than-usual hook for amigurumi, size E or F generally, around 3.5 mm if you are using standard acrylic yarn.
Projects are always free.
Everyone is always welcome.
Bring yourself or invite a friend.
Family night! Friend time! Time for you!
Projects usually take 20-30 minutes.
(Obviously learning crochet if you have never crocheted before could take a bit longer!)
