About this Event

On Friday 13th March everyone's favourite comedian-rapper straight outta Brompton MC Hammersmith returns to Number 57, with the fantastic Chris Scott hosting.

MC Hammersmith is a multi-award winning comedian and the world's leading gangsta rapper to ever emerge from the ghetto of middle class west London, and he’s bringing his big new show to Dundee ahead of the Edinburgh Fringe. Under his belt he has the 2020 Scottish Comedy Award (Best Improv/Variety), the 2018 Scottish Comedy Award (Best Newcomer), and the 2017 UK Improv Smackdown Championship to name but a few. Online videos of his performances regularly go viral, having accrued over 20 million views across platforms. In addition, he has been hand-picked by Jason Manford and John Bishop to open their arena shows.

“Stomach-achingly funny” ★★★★★ – EdFringe Review

"An exceptionally dazzling performance... utterly enthralled" - The Skinny

"A shy, somewhat repressed ex-private school attendee... blazing through an incredible freestyle rap" - Wee Review

“Excellent and impressive” – Chortle

Your host for the evening will be the fantastic Chris Scott. Chris was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Scottish Comedy Awards and was the hand-picked support act for Susie McCabe and Emmy winner Alex Edelman. Bringing unflinching punchlines and a bit of devilment to the stage, his why-not attitude has seen him appear in an underwear ad and perform at an S&M club.
"Scottish Comedy’s best kept secret.” - Susie McCabe

Opening the night will be Martin Bearne. One of the best joke writers in Scotland, Martin is known for his one-liners that’ll have you in stitches; he performs in comedy clubs all over Scotland.

"Well thought out and featured a string of killer one-liners." - The Scotsman

"A great comedian, not for the easily offended." - Ellon Times

Also featuring shorter sets from exciting newcomers Craig Speirs and Kirsty Lynch.

**PLEASE READ CAREFULLY**

· Tickets can be refunded or exchanged no less than 24 hours before the show.

· Line-ups can be subject to change at short notice.

· The show is in three 30 minute parts separated by two intervals. Doors open at 7pm, one hour before the start time of 8pm. Please arrive before the show starts but not before 7pm. Attendees who arrive late will not be granted admission or a refund.

· This is NOT a standing event. All audience members must be seated while the performance is underway, unless ordering at the bar or using the toilets. When ordering at the bar, please whisper.

· Entrance and exit is via the side door only; please wait outside at the door for ticket check and to be seated by the doorman.

· Tables are limited and you may have to share one. If you choose to sit on a row, please move all the way down to the end and don’t leave empty seats between groups. You may not be able to sit together if the remaining chairs available are spread out. If you are particular about seating we recommend arriving as early as possible.

· Seats in the front half of the room must be filled before seating in the back half is allocated.

· Seating in the alcove at the back is reserved for the comedians and their guests only.

· Don’t talk or heckle during the performances. This rule is NOT optional. It is very distracting for both the performer and other audience members. Some performers (usually the host) might talk to the audience, but otherwise please let the comedians do the talking. Heckling does not ‘help the show’. Think of it like cinema rules: laughter, cheers, applause are all great, but talking or yelling out is not. And another cinema rule…

· Please put your phone on silent. Photos are fine but please no video or flash photography.

· These shows are for people aged 18 and over. You may be asked to show ID if you do not look of age.

· Comedy Dundee does not necessarily agree or disagree with the opinions and viewpoints expressed by the comedians. Acts are booked based on their ability to make people laugh, beyond that we respect freedom of expression. If you disagree or are offended by what you hear, you are free to express this by not laughing, by leaving, or by respectfully raising your objections with the act after the show or via social media. You may not interrupt an on-going performance.

· Audience members who repeatedly break these rules will be asked to leave.
