Friday, August 29 - Women's Fire (7:00 pm)

Fire embodies the spirit of heart transcending all that divides us.

We want all to feel safe, welcome, and receive the healing and transformative benefits of fire and a circle of women. We gather rain, snow or shine in the comfort and protection of the Sacred Fire Council House. Address & directions will be sent after registering in your email confirmation letter from Eventbrite. Our monthly women's fire creates a space for us to explore being women. It's valuable to come together and nurture ourselves and each other with the support of a special Sacred Fire and in the presence and reflection of other women.

Being together in this way can be both nourishing and transformative. When women take time to connect with themselves and each other, everyone benefits including our friends, family, co-workers, and the world we live.

For practical reasons, we ask each person coming to reserve a seat via Eventbrite.

• We have blankets,chairs & back jacks but please bring what you need for your own comfort.
• Our fires are drug and alcohol - free except for an occasional toast on special occasions.

Facilitated by our , Lisa Lichtig, we come together with respect, compassion, understanding and honest exploration. Bring your feelings, experiences, stories, challenges, poetry, songs and/or simply bring your presence. Feel free to invite other women to join us.

MEET YOUR FIREKEEPER: Lisa Lichtig, a devoted student of Grandfather Fire for 25 years, is also a medical doctor, midwife, traditional shamanic healer and mother. Lisa serves community as a Firekeeper for Sacred Fire hosting monthly community fires, womens’ fires and specialty fires. She and her husband, Patrick, are keepers of Grandfather Fire's oldest consecrated hearth within Sacred Fire. Lisa also serves on the Sacred Fire Women’s Initiation Council, which offers a formal process to guide adolescent girls and young women into adulthood. She also serves community as a Mara’akame (traditional shamanic healer and ceremonial leader in the Wixárika Tradition). She lives on a beautiful knoll in the Blue Ridge mountains of western North Carolina and carries the scent of fire wherever she goes.

DETAILS AND REMINDERS

TIMING

• 6:30 - 7:00 pm - Setup
• 7:00 pm until ~ 10:00 pm - Sacred Fire.

Doors close after fire is consecrated, please arrive on time. It is ideal to stay until the end to complete our process together.

HELP with SET-UP: We always need 2-3 people to arrive 30 minutes early and help set up. Will you help this month? Set- up list on the clipboard in the Council House. Contact Lisa our firekeeper - [email protected] or (828) 768-3302.

COST: While listed as a free event, donations even as small as $5 are really helpful. Funds collected help offset the expenses involved in hosting monthly fires and events. Suggested donation of $5 - $20 can be made in onsite in the "fire gourd" or via paypal - please select friends and family to avoid service fees. Thank-you for your generosity❣️

VENUE: You will be coming to the land where we live. Please respect that this is also our home. Drive slowly on the road into our neighborhood. With the great blessing of the Council House, we gather rain or shine.

DIRECTIONS & PARKING: Directions will be sent in your confirmation letter from Eventbrite. Please check your junk mail.

IMMERSE in NATURE: As always, you are welcome to arrive early and immerse yourself in nature along 2 miles of trails and river (walk at your own risk and please do not walk into the neighbors land across the little creek). Maps are in the box at the large woodshed near the parking area.

CANCELLATIONS: If you need to cancel for any reason, please do so ASAP so that the next person on the waiting list can have an opportunity to participate.
