About this Event

Step inside the world of Frida Kahlo — not through myth or popular culture, but through her own voice.

Join writer, editor and curator Anna McNay for an intimate and thought-provoking exploration of one of the twentieth century's most celebrated artists. Drawing on Kahlo's diaries, letters, interviews and personal writings, this session moves beyond the familiar image of the flower-crowned painter to reveal the ideas, experiences and convictions that shaped both her life and her art.

Kahlo's work is often viewed through the lens of pain, politics and her turbulent relationship with Diego Rivera. But what happens when we let Frida speak for herself? This talk offers a richer, more nuanced understanding of her creative practice, her resilience and the extraordinary way she transformed lived experience into art.
