Freyfaxi Potluck Meet and Greet

Join Middle Georgia Norse Pagan Kindred as we gather to celebrate Freyfaxi, the first harvest festival of the season!
Freyfaxi is a modern Heathen holiday celebrated in August in honor of Freyr, the Norse god associated with fertility, prosperity, peace, and the harvest. As the fields begin to yield their first bounty, whether it be literal crops or philosophical, we come together in gratitude for the abundance of the earth, our community, and the work that has brought us to this season.
The name Freyfaxi comes from the legendary stallion dedicated to Freyr in Hrafnkels Saga. While the horse plays an important role in the story, we promise no horses will be harmed at this event!!
Our celebration will include:
-A community blót (ritual) honoring Freyr
-A potluck feast celebrating the first harvest
-Offerings of bread, grains, and seasonal foods
-Fellowship, conversation, and gratitude
What to Bring
• A potluck dish to share
• Your favorite beverage (BYOB)
• A camp chair
• Any items you'd like blessed during the ritual
• Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, etc.)—shade will be provided, but it is still summer!
Attire is completely up to you! Many attendees enjoy dressing in historical or ritual clothing, but everyday clothing is equally welcome. Come as you are and celebrate with us.
Whether you've been practicing Heathenry for years or you're simply curious about Norse pagan traditions, all respectful guests are welcome. We look forward to sharing good food, meaningful ritual, and community as we give thanks for the blessings of the harvest.
We can't wait to celebrate with you. Hail Freyr!
