Join us on Sunday 18 January at 3:30 pm when Pro Musica Rara presents French Influence in the English Court. The concert will take place at Grace United Methodist Church, 5407 N Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21210. Free parking and handicapped accessible.This French Baroque program features two international stars: Teresa Wakim, soprano, and Aaron Sheehan, tenor; with Cynthia Roberts, violin; Phoebe Carrai, cello; and Adam Pearl, harpsichord.
French Influence in the English Court takes you from Paris to London in 90 minutes. It features solo arias and chamber music for strings from the Court of Louis XIV and follow this French influence to Purcell who was writing for King Charles II in London. The second half of the concert will include Purcell duets for soprano and tenor.
Pro Musica Rara, Baltimore's “premier early music ensemble”, is a period instrument chamber music ensemble performing baroque, classical, and early romantic repertoire. There will be a pre-concert presentation at 2:30.
