What does this workshop cover?
In the workshop you can choose from two lovely layered pictures and create your own layered raw edge applique and freemotion masterpiece. Throughout the workshop you will be guided through each individual step with clear and detailed plans to build up your picture in your chosen fabric. Nicely presented in a special frame you can choose to add buttons or bead embellishments and a lovely ribbon to finish off your layered picture.
You will be taught all the skills needed to make the most out of this fantastic technique and leave the workshop with the knowledge and ability to continue with your own designs in the future.
What you need to bring
Images, tracing paper, glue, felt backing and square ‘frame’ is supplied but you will need to bring the following materials and equipment with you:
• Sewing Machine, please bring your extra wide table for your machine if you have one (helpful but not essential), also don’t forget your foot pedal and cable.
• Freemotion embroidery foot
• A variety of fabric scraps to produce the raw edge applique artwork.
• About 3 metres of ribbon of your choice (I used a hessian type ribbon)
• Your choice of beads/buttons for embellishment
• Black thread
• Your usual sewing equipment, tweezers, scissors etc
• Pencil, an erasable pen is also helpful but not essential
• Bondaweb

This class is ideal for those who have completed the beginners workshop or have had a go at freemotion before.

Other things you need to know
All workshops are run at LilyBoo, Lostwithiel on the upstairs floor. There is a steep flight of stairs up to the workshop area but once there you will have everything you need, from a small kitchen for tea and coffee along with a bathroom. The workshops at LilyBoo have bought together people for a chat, to learn something new and there is always lots of laughter.
