What does the workshop cover?
This is a fabulously festive freemotion embroidery workshop suitable for those who have learned the basics of freemotion embroidery and wish to progress their skills further by producing some lovely festive creations.
You may wish to focus on producing some gorgeous Christmas cards or some fun and festive Christmas decorations or a little of both, its up to you! Whichever you choose you will go home with some lovely hand made items perfect for decorating your home or to be given away as gifts. During this workshop you will be guided through the processes carefully and methodically with in depth tutorials, as well as having a range of original designs to choose from, with lots of hints and tips to help you produce your very own festive artworks.
The class covers image transfer and mirror imaging as well as how to layer and combine fabrics with
lots of lovely freemotion embroidery. It’s a great way to use up all those fabric scraps you have been saving at home. You will be taught all the skills needed to make the most out of this fantastic technique and leave the workshop with the knowledge and ability to continue with your own designs in the future.
What you need to bring
Card blanks, envelopes and tracing paper will be supplied as well as use of original designs but you will need to bring the following materials and equipment to create your pieces:
 Sewing Machine (don’t forget your foot pedal and electric cable)
 Freemotion embroidery foot
 A variety of fabric scraps to produce the raw edge applique artworks.
 A variety of felts, white and festive red/green are ideal.
 Ribbon or cord for the decorations.
 Black thread
 Bondaweb
 Your usual sewing equipment, tweezers, scissors etc
 Pencil, an erasable pen is also helpful but not essential
Who the workshop is suitable for
Someone with some experience of freemotion, perhaps they have completed our introduction to freemotion embroidery.

This workshop is taught by Caroline Michelle who is a local textile artist specialising in freemotion embroidery.
Other things you need to know
This workshop is held upstairs at LilyBoo. Once upstairs there is a bathroom and kitchen on the same floor and refreshments are included.
