About this Event

Freelancing & Visas in Germany

Ready to start your own business in Germany, but looking for a little support — or wondering what your visa options even are? In this free meetup and workshop, we tackle both sides of the expat freelancer journey: the practical steps of setting up as self-employed, and the visa questions that often feel even more confusing.

Come for the workshop, stay for the coffee and a chance to discuss your project — and your paperwork — with entrepreneurs like you.

Every 3rd Saturday of the month

Important!!! NEW TIME FROM MAY: 5-7 pm

In a relaxed, peer-led atmosphere, we'll cover the shared challenges freelancers and self-employed Ausländer face in the beginning — setting up bookkeeping, finding clients, structuring services, and navigating the loneliness of working alone.

Just as importantly, we'll dig into the visa side: freelance visa vs. self-employment visa, extensions, changing your visa status, what the Ausländerbehörde actually wants to see, and the mistakes that trip people up. This part of the session is brought to you in partnership with GoVisaGermany (www.govisagermany.com), our sister company specializing in visa and immigration support for expats in Germany. If you've got a visa extension, status change, or renewal coming up, this is a great chance to ask questions — and if you'd like personalized help, you can book a 1:1 consultation with the GoVisaGermany team.

This is not a formal workshop, but a supportive space to connect, exchange tips, and get clarity — on your business and your paperwork — through real conversations with others on a similar journey.

Whether you're a coach, designer, developer, marketer, or just figuring out your next step — come as you are. You'll leave with practical ideas, visa clarity, new contacts, and a sense of community.

There is no entry fee, and no need to pitch — just join the conversation.
