Freeform Crochet - Make a Wall Hanging
About this Event
Freeform Crochet - Make a Wall Hanging
Join me for this 6 - week course exploring the expressive possibilities of freeform crochet. This course focuses on i following your intuition, experimenting, and discovering new approaches to making textiles.
During the first two sessions, I will introduce you to a range of techniques and approaches, encouraging you to use crochet in unexpected and intuitive ways. There will be plenty of time to sample and play creatively, developing the direction for your hanging to take.
Over the next two sessions, we will create the forms for our final pieces. I’ll guide you through developing your piece into a wall hanging, considering balance, composition, and flow.
In the final two sessions, we will stitch down our final composition and add a backing to our work. There will be time here to experiment with additional techniques such as hand stitching to enhance your composition.
This course is suited to students with some basic crochet experience who are interested in deepening their practice, developing a more personal, expressive textile language, and exploring more experimental approaches to making.
Classes take place on Monday evenings, 6:30pm - 8:30pm, at Hove Textile Space.
Early Bird Tickets are available until 7 days before the event, or until they sell out!
