Four-week physical theatre course
About this Event
About the teacher
Our September skills residency is led by BCS Artistic Director Ben Grafton.
Ben is an acting coach and award-nominated director who has worked in drama schools including Lamda, Trinity Laban, Performers College and Italia Conti. He has made work in theatres across Brighton and London, and has an MA in Actor Training and Coaching from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
About the Residencies
Each month, a different Brighton Clown School practitioner offers four weekly classes of their own teaching. The course centres the artist-practitioner and their own approach to making physical comedy and physical theatre, rather than a specific practice, technique or genre.
The course is firmly rooted in pedagogical rigour. As such, students shall leave the skills residency having achieved clearly defined learning outcomes that shall be communicated at the start of the course.
This course content will include:
- clown
- physical theatre
- play
- ensemble
- approaches to devising
Course structure
Students will get the most by attending all classes. However it is possible to register to attend on an ad-hoc basis. Bookings close end of August.
