Freeform Crochet – Create Without RulesExplore color, texture, and expression through freeform crochet
In this playful and inspiring 2.5-hour workshop, you’ll learn the basics of freeform crochet – a technique that breaks away from patterns and encourages improvisation. Think of it as doodling with yarn!
You’ll work without a fixed plan, making creative decisions as you go. We’ll explore changing colors, textures, yarn weights, stitch types, and even direction, all in one piece.
You can choose to crochet one larger piece – perhaps a wall hanging or the beginning of a blanket – or several smaller patches that can later be joined together. The focus is on freedom, play, and discovery.
What you'll learn:
The basics of freeform crochet technique
How to combine different yarns for texture and color contrast
How different yarn materials behave and influence the result
Tips for building a cohesive piece from different elements
Materials:
All yarns are provided and included in the course fee. You’re also welcome to bring your own leftover yarns. We'll work with a combination of handspun yarn and mixed scraps from previous projects – perfect for understanding how different fibers behave.

Basic crochet skills are required – you should be comfortable making chain, single, and double crochet stitches.
