Freedom Rising: 9 Years of Power and Progress

We are celebrating our 9-year anniversary this year! Join us in community to celebrate our 9-year journey fighting for freedom and be the first to experience the launch of our new report.

Initiate Justice is a grassroots nonprofit organization working to end incarceration across California. Through the leadership of more than 45,000 directly impacted organizers, we push for transformative policy and programmatic change from the inside out.

As we reflect on nine powerful years of movement building, we want to look back on our wins, share space for connection and strategy, and discuss the urgent issues at the heart of our new report with the people who make this work possible: you!

This event is free and open to all directly impacted community members (including those who are formerly incarcerated or have/had an incarcerated loved one). We kindly ask that supporters, allies, and other community members consider making a donation to help sustain our work moving forward.
