About this Event
Freedom Kites: Kite Making For Palestine Children aged 7-13
Come join us at Durning Hall for a day of creativity and solidarity! At this event, we will be making kites to show our support for Palestine. Let's come together to craft colorful kites that symbolize freedom and hope for these communities.
Whether you're a seasoned kite maker or a beginner, everyone is welcome to participate. Come along for a fun-filled day of kite making and community building. Let's spread our message of support through the art of kite flying!
Through the inspirational life story of Dr. Refaat Alareer - a Palestinian writer, poet, translator and university professor - children will explore elements of Palestinian culture, identity and history. Through combined storytelling and craft exercise, they will bring design and creating their own kite for Gaza.
This workshop is designed to inspire and empower children by introducing them to significant Palestinian figures, helping them to develop an understanding of the historical and cultural importance of Palestine.
