As Cape Verde takes its place on the world’s biggest stage at the FIFA World Cup, the Freedom Experience comes to Miami for a special one-night celebration of music, art, food, cocktails, culture, and community.
Hosted by June Freedom—fresh off winning Cape Verde Album of the Year, Music Video of the Year, and Collaboration of the Year—this is more than a concert, more than a dinner, and more than a night out. It’s an immersive experience you step into.
From 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM, The Lafayette in the heart of Brickell transforms into the home of the Freedom Experience. Located inside the iconic former El Tucán space, the venue combines exceptional cuisine, handcrafted cocktails, elegant design, and an intimate live music atmosphere, creating the perfect setting for a celebration that evolves throughout the night.
The Freedom Experience has traveled through Lisbon, Praia, São Vicente, and Atlanta, with every edition taking on a life of its own. No two experiences are ever the same. Every city brings together a different mix of artists, DJs, musicians, creatives, and special guests, making each Freedom Experience unique to that place and moment. This Miami edition, celebrating Cape Verde’s historic World Cup journey, promises to be one of the most memorable yet.
Guests are invited to arrive early, settle in for dinner and cocktails, and immerse themselves in the opening of the evening as renowned Cape Verdean painter Amadeo Carvalho presents a curated exhibition of his work alongside a vinyl listening session celebrating the rich musical heritage of Cape Verde. Blending timeless classics with contemporary influences, his selections create the soundtrack for the night while his artwork transforms the venue into a living gallery.
As the evening unfolds, the soundtrack continues to evolve through Cape Verdean music, Afrobeat, Afro House, and contemporary Afro-diasporic sounds, with special guest appearances and unexpected musical moments keeping the energy fresh and constantly changing.
At the heart of the evening is June Freedom, joined by his musicians for an intimate live musical experience that breaks down the barrier between artist and audience. Rather than watching from a distance, guests become part of the celebration—singing, dancing, connecting, and sharing in a night where every room, every song, and every interaction contributes to the experience.
