Introduction to Destiny Rescue: Fighting for Freedom Across the Globe Human trafficking is one of the gravest human rights issues facing our world today—and it’s closer to home than many realize. While it’s often seen as a distant problem, the reality is that trafficking is happening in our own communities. Atlanta, Georgia, is one of the nation's largest hubs for human trafficking, due in large part to the presence of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the world. This global gateway makes our region a key transit point for traffickers—and a vital battleground for those fighting to stop them. Destiny Rescue is a global Christian non-governmental organization (NGO) leading the fight to rescue children from sexual exploitation and human trafficking.

Operating across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, Destiny Rescue has restored hope to thousands of children through courageous rescue operations and long-term reintegration programs. Each rescued child receives individualized care based on their vulnerabilities and circumstances, including trauma resilience training, educational support, and spiritual guidance rooted in the message of the Gospel. But rescue is just the beginning.

Destiny Rescue believes freedom must be sustained—and that means walking alongside each survivor as they rebuild their lives. Every $1,500 raised at this year’s Freedom Cup will fund the rescue of one child from trafficking. Your support directly translates to freedom. We are proud to honor the retirement of a distinguished Peachtree City resident who has devoted his career to fighting human trafficking both locally and globally through his dedicated service with Homeland Security. His tireless work to protect the vulnerable and pursue justice has left a lasting impact both at home and around the world.

This event also celebrates local champions in the fight against trafficking, including Christina Camacho, founder of Thinifi and a long-time Peachtree City resident. Christina has been a powerful advocate for breaking the cycle of human trafficking. Through her active involvement in the Junior League—first as a member of the Public Affairs Committee and later serving on the State Public Affairs Board of Directors—she has worked alongside legislators, task forces, law enforcement agencies, and nonprofit organizations to champion critical legislation. Her efforts have helped strengthen penalties for traffickers, enhance protections for victims, and improve access to vital rehabilitative services. Her steadfast commitment to public education and community engagement has made her a powerful and influential advocate in the fight against human trafficking. Joining us at the Freedom Cup are also our partners in this critical fight—Wellspring Living, a nationally respected organization founded by a Peachtree City resident and located right in our own backyard.

Since 2001, Wellspring Living has been a leader in providing transformative, trauma-informed care to domestic survivors of sex trafficking and those at risk. Through residential and community-based programs focused on housing, healing, and education, they help survivors reclaim their lives and futures. We’re also bringing together airport personnel trained to recognize and respond to signs of trafficking at the source—our airports—where vigilance and timely intervention can change the course of a life. We are excited to host the first annual Freedom Cup golf tournament on November 10, 2025, at Flat Creek Country Club. This special event will unite our community for a powerful cause. All proceeds will go directly to Destiny Rescue, and for every $1,500 raised, one child will be rescued from the horrors of trafficking and placed on the path to healing and restoration. If you're unable to attend the tournament, we invite you to still take part in making a difference by donating an unwrapped toy at any of the four ClubCorp country clubs in our area. These gifts will be delivered to children currently in recovery at Wellspring Living this holiday season. A

Message from Christina Camacho:

“Years ago, when I started my advocacy work with the Junior League of Fort Myers in 2009, I was exposed to the harsh reality of human trafficking. I learned that trafficking doesn't necessarily mean crossing a border—it means the manipulation and exploitation of a weaker mind. It was a turning point when I met a trafficking survivor who had grown up in my own hometown of Aventura, Florida, in an upper-class community. She was just a girl, not much younger than me, who had been trafficked by her best friend’s father—a police officer—and sold to other influential men in the community. This brave young woman went on to write a book and start a nonprofit to help others like her. Her story opened my eyes to how deep and deceptive this problem is. The more I learned about the complexity of trafficking and listened to survivor stories, the more committed I became to fighting for their voices. The stories of the children—their youth, their innocence—stay with me. Knowing this happens in our own backyards changes you. Ignorance or ignoring it does not stop it from happening. That’s why I’m here—to shake things up, to call our community to action, and to make sure no child is ever forgotten or left behind. It takes all of us. Please, join me.”
