Do you want to learn some freediving basics, or start training with the Queenstown Freediving Club, or refresh your freediving skills or just see how long you can hold your breath in a safe environment? If you answered yes, then this is the session for you!
We run through a bit of theory first, You'll learn about basic freediving physiology and safety, plus how to breathe! Meet in the foyer at the Events Centre by 5:30pm (don't get changed first).
After theory we'll jump in the pool and do a static apnea session and you'll get to see how long you can hold your breath (and hopefully amaze yourself!). We follow up with some safety training and finish up around 8pm. Don't forget your togs for a spa after where you can ask questions and learn a bit more about the club.
CONFIRMATION IS REQUIRED BY END OF DAY SUNDAY 3 MAY. Please confirm attendance by completing membership forms, making full $130 membership payment or $50 for just the induction and a casual membership (you can upgrade to full membership after if you want), to the club bank account (further details in forms) in advance and tick going in this event. We need to ensure there are enough coming to make this feasible to run, plus need enough people watching you to keep things safe! There is generally huge demand for these sessions so don't delay as numbers are limited.
Following this induction you can also come along to a dynamic session (swimming underwater) for no extra cost to see if you like it before signing up.
Check the medical form (in membership forms) in advance as you'll need a medical certificate from your doctor if you answer yes to anything. Ask in advance if you have questions. We hate having to turn people away on the day for this.

Bring:
thick, full length wetsuit,
mask and snorkel
togs (for the spa after) and towel.
Let us know if you need to borrow anything (incl your size). The club has a few wetsuits, masks and snorkels available.
Pay your own pool entry.
Members are welcome to attend as many inductions as they want for free, and it's recommended you come along for a refresher every now and then. We also need your help in water, please let us know if you can help and arrive, ready to get in the water by 6:30pm.
