Join local dancer and choreographer, Ray Hayes, for a series of FREE 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 at the Thursday night market in downtown Chico! Save the Dates: Thursdays, August 6th, 13th, & 20th

💠 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨 𝐭𝐨 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 — this dance class can also be applied to Father/daughter, Mother/son, or any other pairing on the dance floor. We will dance to songs like Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect”, but the dance can be adjusted to any song of your choice. No previous dance experience required and two-left feet are welcome here. Bring your song recommendations!
Participants can expect to learn a simple embrace and a beginner-friendly dance move such as a turn. You may take this class with a friend, relative, significant other, or even solo!
💠 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 (flash mob style) -- One of the best ways to "break the ice" at your wedding is to 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟! A Flash mob is a dance that typically starts with 1-2 people in an unexpected way. As the song progresses, more and more people join in. By the end of the song, a whole group of people are dancing the same dance!
This class is designed for people who want a high energy group dance at their wedding AND for anyone who wants to learn for fun! Flash mobs are adaptable for groups of 10(ish) people to 50+ or more. The dance can be adjusted to any song of your choice. And the best part? You don't need a partner!

💠 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨 𝐭𝐨 𝐃𝐢𝐩𝐬 & 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐬 - Don't let the class title fool you, you don't need any previous experience to take this class. Contrary to popular belief, dips are actually an "illusion" -- a carefully planned position, designed to look like a trust fall. When done correctly, dips should take on little to no weight from your partner. In other words, you do not have to be stronger or taller than your partner to properly execute a graceful dip!
Participants can expect to learn a basic embrace, spin, and a simple dip or lean. You may take this class with a friend, relative, significant other, or even solo!

𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫: Ray Hayes started dancing at the age of 5 in solo dances like Jazz and Ballet. In 2013, she discovered a love for partner dancing while directing a Lindy Hop (Swing Dance) performance team in Orange, CA. In 2017, Ray was hired at Chapman University to teach Salsa, Bachata, West Coast Swing, and Fusion Dance. She has been invited to teach and perform in Los Angeles, Sacramento, Palm Springs, Dallas (TX), Jacksonville (FL), and Seattle (WA). She also holds a 1st place win in Advanced West Coast Swing at the US Open Swing Dance Championships, 2019.
With over 10 years of teaching Wedding Dance, Ray specializes in two-left-feet and creating beautiful dances for your special day.
