Course Details

Who is this Class Best Suited For?

This is best intended for students who are ages 17 and below and with no tournament experience or formal chess instruction.

Course Topics

This course covers variety of topics, which include but are not limited to: chess rules, openings, fundamental checkmates, piece values and basic endgames.

Course Goals

This aims to develop young students to become better overall players. They will be able to play a chess tournament with confidence and will clearly understand the basic rules of the game. Our coaches will ensure that the students in class learn the necessary and proper fundamentals before being encouraged to begin tournament play.

Materials

All materials are provided for class. Supplementary materials are also available for purchase to practice at home.

Progression

Considerations for progression include but are not limited to: mastery of topics introduced, class participation and performance.

TCC utilizes wristbands to indicate the level of knowledge and skills that a student has.

Student Expectations:

Attend the classes as scheduled.

Cost for Class:

$95 for Afternoon Session

$85 for Evening Session

$65 for Exclusive (Wednesdays)
