Free Tree Giveaway 2026: Mohawk College Pick-Up

REGISTRATION REQUIRED - **NEW** 2 TREES PER PROPERTY

Welcome to the 2026 Free Tree Giveaway registration! You will select your pick-up location, date, and tree species. Your tree will be reserved for you until you park and pick it up during the timeframe listed on your selected pick-up day. Food and monetary donations for Hamilton Food Share are appreciated.

Trees must be planted on private property, preferably at the side or back of your home. Planting a native tree on your property improves air quality, fights climate change, and increases property value.

IMPORTANT GIVEAWAY DETAILS

• Max 2 trees per property, regardless of property size.
• Trees will be approximately 0.5-1 metre tall.
• Must present drivers license or property tax bill upon pick-up to prove residency in Hamilton.
• Park your vehicle and pick up your tree. Rain or shine.
• Homeowner is responsible to plant, water, and maintain private tree.

There are three pick-up dates for this location:

• Thursday April 30, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
• Friday May 1, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
• Saturday May 2, 2026 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Location: PARKING LOT P7 at Mohawk College - Fennell Campus (west side of campus, west of the David Braley Athletic & Recreation Centre). Parking lot can be accessed from Fennell Ave or Governors Blvd. Reference campus map if needed.

If you miss your tree pick-up date for any reason, your ticket will be cancelled and is no longer valid. Please register for future Free Tree Giveaway dates available.

• Sugar Maple (Acer saccharum)
• Red Maple (Acer rubrum)
• Tulip Tree (Liriodendron tulipifera)
• Eastern White Pine (Pinus strobus)
• Blue Beech (Carpinus caroliniana)
• Serviceberry (Amelanchier sp.)
• Bush Honeysuckle (Diervilla lonicera)
• American Witch-hazel (Hamamelis virginiana)
