About this Event

THIS IS OUR FIRST FREE TEACHER WORKSHOP IN OUR NEW LOCATION!!

About the Workshop

Using repurposed paper from SCRAP, participants will make small boxes of different

sizes and fill them with experimental shapes and constructions made from different

shades of white paper. We’ll tear, fold, cut, score, and play with paper to fill the boxes.

The completed piece will look like a circus of paper, light and shadow.

This workshop is geared towards middle school classrooms, but educators teaching to all ages are welcome!

About the Artist

From a family of makers, Aiko Cuneo worked for over 35 years with teachers, students and families as a teaching artist in San Francisco schools and various organizations. She combines a variety of materials to make two and three-dimensional constructions.

SCRAP has been an on-going source of repurposed materials that inspire Cuneo’s work. “The art of making something from someone else’s discards brings me joy and satisfaction from the challenges that come during the process of transformation.“
