Did you know that Black people in North American were leading square and contra dances from the very beginning?
🎶 Join African American Dance Caller Pathways (AADCP) at Kinfolk House for a Free Square & Contra Dance! Whether you're brand new to square and contra dancing or already know and love it, everyone is invited to come dance, connect, and have a good time.
AADCP connects experienced instructors with a cohort of Black-identified aspiring dance callers, creating opportunities to reconnect Black communities with traditional dances and the Black culture that helped shape them.
👨👩👧👦 This event is free and open to all ages. RSVP is preferred, but not required. Donations are appreciated and help support this work.
🎻 🪕African American Dance Caller Pathways is an initiative of the Fort Worth African American Roots Music Festival, a program of Decolonizing the Music Room.
