Free Ski Day 2025

Entrance is free to the public and winter access fees are waived on Free Ski Day- January 4, 2025. Pre-registration is required to participate in the free lesson and rental package portion of the event. Lessons and rental packages are offered in cross-country skiing and snowshoeing at the following times. Rentals are returned at the end of the lesson. Please register for the rental and lesson packages at this site. Time slots are as follows:

Cross-Country Skiing*:

10 AM

11 AM

12 PM

1 PM

*Skiers may choose a lesson in classic cross-country skiing or skate style of cross-country skiing. If you have never cross-country skied before, it is recommended to start with classic.

Snowshoe Tours:

10:30 AM

11:30 AM

All lessons and tours meet at the Ponderosa State Park Activity Center.

Registration for lessons and tours will close on Jan 3rd at 3 PM.
