Perry Wellington Realty will host a Community Shred Event on May 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to support the Harris Township Lions Club’s local Sight Fund. The event will take place at 110 W. Main St. in Boalsburg, located in the back parking area along Chambers Alley. Attendees are encouraged to follow posted signs for directions.Community members are invited to bring confidential documents for secure shredding while supporting an important local cause. To help the event run smoothly and ensure everyone has an opportunity to participate, attendees are asked to remove all non-paper items before arriving. This includes binder clips, paper clips, binders, and plastic page protectors. Additionally, there will be a limit of two paper boxes per person this year to ensure enough capacity for all participants.
The Shred Event not only provides a safe and convenient way to dispose of sensitive documents but also helps raise funds for meaningful community initiatives. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Harris Township Lions Club Sight Fund, which provides assistance for individuals in need of eye care and vision-related services within the local community.
Shredding services will be provided by North Central Sight Services Inc., an organization dedicated to creating employment opportunities for individuals who are blind or legally blind. Their involvement highlights the event’s focus on community support and inclusivity.
Adding to the excitement, “Real Deal” Bob Steele, well-known host from WOWY Radio, will be at the event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees can enjoy entertainment, giveaways, and the opportunity to meet the local radio personality.
