Free Saturday Seminar: Vegetable Gardening for Beginners

J oin us to learn the basics of starting and maintaining your own vegetable garden. We'll discuss everything you need to know, including choosing the right location, soil, seeds, plants, fertilizers, trellises, pest control, and much more! We'll even include some of our favorite garden to table recipes to ensure your garden produce makes its way to the kitchen.

Our speaker this month is Sheryl Virgilio. Sheryl has worked at Urban Earth for five years and has been gardening at home for 25 years. She is also a local Master Gardener and loves to give back to the community by sharing everything she has learned. Her vegetable garden at home includes tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, purple hull peas, lots of lettuces, herbs, and more. Her favorite things to grow are okra and pickling cucumbers.

We generally recommend waiting to plant tender annuals and vegetables until around mid-April which makes it the perfect day to come to the greenhouse. You'll be ready to start your vegetable garden that day!
